Focused on the Academic World to Achieve Doctoral Degree 

Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, who is familiarly called Ibas, earned his doctorate at IPB University on June 10, 2021 with the dissertation theme "Financing and Investment Strategies for Sustainable and Inclusive Integrated Tourism Development".

The man who was born in Bandung, November 24, 1980, earned his bachelor's degree in 2005 at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. Then, he continued his studies at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and earned the title of Master of Science in International Political Economics in 2007. He graduated with a master's degree specializing in International Political Economy at the age of 27.

He ended his bachelor period in 2011 on the same date as his birth date. Ibas married Siti Rubi Aliya Rajasa who was the daughter of Hatta Rajasa. From this marriage, he was blessed with two sons and one daughter.

After graduating from college, Ibas was actively participated in many organizations. Some of them are KADIN as Deputy General Chairperson for International Promotion, Tourism, Cultural Arts and Sports (2010 – 2015), the Young Generation of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI) Communication Forum, and he was also actively participated in the SBY Nurussalam Dhikr Foundation. He also joined the Democratic Party which was the party formed by his father, Former Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

Ibas began his career in politics in 2009. Of course, the career he started could not be separated from his family environment. His father was a high-ranking officer before becoming a president, and his older brother Agus Harimurti was a soldier before becoming a politician.

He ventured to become a young politician of the Democratic Party and became a member of the Democratic Party legislature representing the East Java Regional Election VII. He was assigned to a party in Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives in charge of defense, intelligence, foreign affairs, and information communication.

Starting as a member of the council, he continued to improve in the world of political career. In 2010, Ibas became an interest for the candidates for chairman of the Democrats. Until in the end, he became Secretary General accompanying the elected general chairman Anas Urbaningrum.

After being trusted to be the Secretary General, he was then directly appointed by the Democratic General Chair in April 2020 to serve as the Chair of the 2015-2020 Democratic Winning Period. Then, he served as Deputy Chairperson of the 2020-2025 Democratic Party.

Ibas has succeeded in becoming a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives as a faction leader for two terms, in 2009-2014 and in the Democratic Party DPP as Chair of the Election Commission for the 2014-2019 period.
