The inspirational figure that will be discussed this time is Baban Sarbana. He is the Director of PT. Rumah Tulis and PT. Ideagile Digital Ecobaraya. The man who was born on August 6, 1974 is also the CEO and Founder of Yatim Online.
Baban completed his undergraduate education in 1995 at the Computer Science Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), IPB University. In 1996, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Economics, Department of Management, Pakuan University.
Then, in 2006, he received a Masters scholarship in Strategic Leadership Studies at the University of Indonesia from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs (Kemenpora) and graduated in 2008. Now (in 2021, ed), Baban is completing his doctoral studies at the Department of Agricultural Development Communication and Rural, FEMA IPB University.
In March 2003, Baban established the Foundation for the Learning Center for Useful Science, which is a foundation engaged in social, educational, and religious fields. Subsequently, he founded Pondok Yatim Mandiri with his social movement called Yatim Online.
Then, in 2013, Baban took the initiative to establish Kelompok Usaha Bunda Yatim Dhuafa (KUBYD) which became the forerunner Koperasi Cilawi (Cinta Telaga Wisata). A year later, in 2014 to be exact, he founded PAUD An Nahlya for access to early childhood education and is still running today.
For all his hard work and contributions, this bespectacled man has won many achievements, both nationally and internationally. Among them was the Indonesian Delegation to the ASEAN Youth Workers Training Program at the National Youth Center of South Korea, 2007. He also won the Golden Ticket to USA Essay Contest and the “Obama, We Came!” Program, Obama's Footsteps Tracing Program in Hawaii, Chicago and Washington DC organized by the United States Embassy.
In addition, there are many other achievements that have been achieved. Baban has also written his thoughts into 13 books. Apart from being active in humanitarian programs, he has also traveled around the world of work.
He is noted to have served as Head of the Training Division of PT. Mizan Learning Center in 2000–2001, Freelance as Creative Division at PT. Triwarsana 2003–2010, Seminar and Training Division at Helmy Yahya Management since 2006, Head of General Publishing Division Gema Insani in 2008, Marketing Manager PT. Pesona Edukasi in 2009, Educational Software Developer, Assistant to Chairman of PT. MGTH (Makes Great Things Happens) Jakarta 2011 and the last one was the Expert Staff of the Bogor Regency Cooperatives and SMEs Office.
Baban has also been a creative in many national television programs, such as SCTV, ANTV, Metro TV, Indosiar, TV One and Trans TV. He has been an entrepreneur since he was a student of the undergraduate program at IPB University.
Becoming a sociopreneur for him is a calling, not a job, nor is it purely a business. Baban conveys his motivation for the younger generation, namely the belief in light at the end of a dark alley.
“There is always a solution to every problem is part of our ability to keep moving. Keep moving! Just keep moving. Contributing to the benefit of society is like learning to ride a bicycle, to achieve balance there is no other way to always move and rise from failure. Make sure in the process of struggle, we have the best soulmates, friends and companions who have strong shoulders to carry the trust together," he said.
