Builds Energy to Build the Nation
Indonesia is one of the countries with abundant energy resources. Data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that Indonesia has built 5,235 power plants with an installed capacity of more than 59 thousand mega watts.
Talking about energy, we certainly cannot escape the figure of the Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Dirjen EBTKE), Dadan Kusdiana. Dadan was born in Sumedang, December 29, 1968.
He is an alumni of IPB University majoring in Agricultural Mechanisms, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, batch 24. After graduating from IPB University, Dadan chose to continue his master's degree at Kyoto University, Japan with a major in Energy Science from 1999 to 2001. He pursued his doctorate degree at Kyoto Univetsity too and completed his studies in 2004.
This bicycle sports activist started his career at the Directorate of Electricity and Energy Utilization since 1992. On May 7, 2015, Dadan was trusted to be the Head of the ESDM Public Communication Center.
Only two months into the field of public communication, he immediately received the mandate as Director of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) on July 13, 2015 with the main task of implementing biodiesel from palm oil nationally.
Then, Dadan returned to the Director General of EBTKE as Secretary to the Director General of EBTKE on July 20, 2016. This position was held for one year until August 8, 2017. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources again gave the task of handling communication activities as Head of the Bureau of Communication, Information Services and ESDM Cooperation for the second time.
Not even six months into his tenure, Dadan was promoted to Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for the Economy and Natural Resources on December 8, 2017. Dadan's work in the world of renewable energy is quite global.
The proof is that he has been invited dozens of times as a speaker and delegate at world-class renewable energy meetings. Among them, as a panelist at the Viena Energy Forum, 4th Oleo Speakers Outlook, IECF Palm Oil Role in The Development of Green Energy, and Developing Clean and Effective Energy Systems in the 21st Century Tokyo, Japan.
In addition, the big event that Dadan has held is the preparation of an Energy Independent Village for a pilot in Nusa Penida Bali in 2007. This activity is a part of the 2007 United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC).
He is also active in building networks in various new and renewable energy communities, including the Indonesian Biodiesel Forum, Board Member for the Association of Indonesian Bioenergy Experts and the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society.
Dadan shares tips in achieving career success, namely diligent work, so that it produces optimal and memorable results. This was conveyed to his staff. "I always want a history to be created in every steage. Even though it is only a small history, we must be proud of ourselves,” he said.
