Jadi Peneliti di Lembaga Riset Sains Paling Bergengsi di Australia

Since she was a child, Dina Yuliana, S.Pt., M.Sc.,PhD has started to be interested in the world of trees and plants, so she dreamed of studying at IPB University. Luckily, her wish came true. Dina began studying at the Faculty of Agriculture majoring in Agriculture in 1989 and graduated in 1994. Currently, she is a Plant Biotechnology Researcher at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSRIO). She started her career as a Researcher at CSRIO since 2011.

After studying at IPB University, Dina continued her studies in 1996 at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) majoring in Plant Physiology. She completed her master's studies in 1998. With her persistence, she continued her doctoral studies at the School of Botany University of Melbourne Australia taking the study of Botany/Plant Biology. She set foot there in order to achieve her doctorate and graduated in 2006.

Dina has succeeded in becoming a Researcher at CSIRO which is the most prestigious and respected national science research institute in Australia. She is an expert on tree and plant cell walls who research and strive to produce cotton plants that are resistant to pests and diseases.

According to Dina, the reason why she is interested in plant stems is because plants and trees are the only large organisms in the world that have chlorophyll. Plants, which are living things that can produce their own food from the minerals found in the soil and air, have fascinated and attracted her to the world of agriculture.

Besides being very interested in the plant world, she also has a high social spirit. From December 2014 to 2016, she joined as a volunteer for the domestic violence crisis service. This great sense of empathy has also made her join the Australian Red Cross since December 2012 as a blood donor volunteer.

Dina has also been a volunteer at the Best Dressed Store which is part of the Community Social Program activities. Since March 2011, this IPB University alumnus has succeeded in becoming a representative as well as a researcher and making the alma mater proud.(*)
