Gaining Knowledge and Experience from Various Campus Organizations
Because of his great interest in his own alma mater, Dr. Dwi Asmono took both his bachelor's and master's degrees at IPB University. He was majoring in Agronomy as an undergraduate, and majoring in Plant Breeding as a graduate. During his years in the university, he had been an active student in many organizational activities. Armed with qualified knowledge and organizational experience, Dwi has now succeeded in occupying the position of Director of PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk.
While in university, Dwi was always involved with many organizations. He even attended several associations in his faculty. One of them is the Agronomy Student Association (HIMAGRON).
Not only pursuing his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, Dwi Asmono also completed his doctoral education and holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, majoring in Plants at the State University of Iowa, USA. He has been involved in plant breeding and Indonesian agriculture for more than 25 years.
Currently, Dwi is the Director of Research and Development at one of the largest palm oil companies in Indonesia, namely PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk. And in 2013, he was elected as Chairman of the Expert Board of the IPB University Alumni Association.
Furthermore, Dwi is also an academic who has published more than 35 academic articles and journals. He also has many teaching experiences at both domestic and foreign universities. In 1996, Dwi received the Honor Society of Agriculture 'Gamma Sigma Delta' award for high scholarships, outstanding achievements or services in agriculture.(*)
