Initiating Innovation in Sharia Financial Services
During his study at IPB University, Inung Widi Setiadji had aspired to have a career in agriculture or animal husbandry. This aspiration was certainly related to the science of agribusiness, especially the socio-economics major that he took while studying at the Faculty of Agriculture.
However, after graduating from IPB, the aspirations that he dreamed of could not be realized. Inung actually started his career at PT Astra International. There, as a graduate of IPB University, he had the opportunity to occupy several positions. Among them were FIFGROUP Branch Manager, Regional Head, Risk Division Head, FIFGROUP Sharia Business Unit (UUS) Head, and his current position which is President Director of PT Sharia Multifinance Asrta or known as Amitra.
With his knowledge and skills, the man who was born in Kudus on June 15, 1974 was able to create several sharia-based financial service innovations. In fact, Inung is the figure behind the sharia-based finance at PT Federal International Finance (FIFGROUP). He innovated Umrah installments, salaries, "qurban", and gold financing that can be done based on sharia.
Before achieving his current success, Inung never imagined that he would enter a financial services company, let alone having a big position and responsibility as a president director.
Apart from having dreamed of a career in agriculture or animal husbandry, as a child, Inung dreamed of becoming a soccer player, because he once idolized Arseto Solo FC.
Unfortunately, he didn't get the blessing from his parents to follow his childhood dream. After graduating from high school, he immediately moved to Bogor to study at IPB University. Although his desire to become a farmer or rancher and soccer player could not be achieved, at this time he is very grateful to be a provider of financial services. He has a motivation in his life that the most important thing is to live a useful life for others.
This father of two children believes that giving benefits to others is an act of worship. He also argues that a person's success cannot be judged by their position, the important thing is to be able to balance life between this world and the hereafter.
There is no doubt that the success of his position as President Director of PT. Sharia Multifinance Astra is a form of gift that he got from his good intentions to be useful for others.(*)
