Achieving the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award X Due to His DedicationX
Sosok alumni IPB University yang satu ini tak kalah membanggakan. Dialah Dr. Prayudi Syamsuri, lulusan IPB University Fakultas Pertanian Jurusan Agribisnis. Ia berhasil mengembangkan karirnya di Kementrian Pertanian. Sejak 2019, Prayudi dipercaya menjabat sebagai Kepala Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pascapanen (Balitbangtan). Saat menjadi mahasiswa di Fakultas Pertanian, Prayudi aktif dalam berbagai organisasi kemahasiswaan. Ia pernah menjabat sebagai Ketua Umum Senat Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian pada tahun 1995-1996.
In addition to completing his bachelor's degree at IPB University, Prayudi also managed to get a master's degree by majoring in Agricultural Economics at the same campus. Never discouraged from pursuing knowledge, he then continued his studies to get a doctorate at Gajah Mada University with a study in Agricultural Science.
Serving as Head of the Center for Postharvest Research and Development did not make him forget his alma mater. In 2020, Prayudi became one of the speakers in the Alumni Insights Webinar “Break Your Limit”. This activity was organized by the Directorate of Alumni Cooperation and Relations (DKHA) in collaboration with the IPB University Alumni Association.
He discussed "Agriculture Builds Hope in the Time of the COVID-19 Pandemic" from the perspective of the policy makers. Prayudi said, there are many roles of IPB University alumni in coloring agricultural policies in the government institutions.
He explained that the survey results on the exchange rate of agricultural businesses and export growth also has experienced an increase, so, the assumption that agriculture is the cornerstone of the economy in difficult times is true.
In the webinar, he explained that the agricultural food supply policy prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture currently prioritizes food security improvement programs, namely by increasing production capacity, diversifying local food, strengthening food logistics system reserves, developing modern agriculture, and conducting the triple export movement.
Menjabat sebagai Kepala Balitbangtan, tentunya memiliki tugas pokok yang juga tanggung jawab yang besar. Dengan jabatan yang ia emban, bertanggung jawab dalam melaksanakan penelitian dan pengembangan teknologi pascapanen pertanian. Berkat ilmu pengetahuan, pengalaman, serta pengabdiannya, Prayudi berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan Satyalencana Karya Satya XX.
As the Head of Balitbangtan, he has participated in technical guidance activities held in Pandeglang Regency. This activity was carried out offline and also online on March 3, 2021.
With hard work and great will, Prayudi managed to occupy his current position as Head of the Center for Postharvest Research and Development (Balitbangtan).(*)
