Pri Menix Day is a baccalaureate from IPB University. He is one of the alumni of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Department of Animal Production and Science and Technology. With the tenacity he has had since he was in college, Menix has succeeded in starting a business in the livestock sector. He is the founder of the brand iCowindonesia.
The man, who comes from West Sumatra, has had a passion for doing business since he was a child. Since childhood, he has participated in herding buffalo with his grandmother. And when he was just sitting in elementary school (SD), he was selling sugar cane. Because of his love for the business world, he trades happily without any shame.
In college, he also continued his passion for trading or selling. Menix was selling the needs of new students, travel businesses, laundry and even selling livestock for Eid Adha. Apart from being active in entrepreneurship, he also liked to socialize and was actively participated in many campus and extra-campus organizations.
Not only studying and selling, Menix, who was active in organizations, had been selected as a candidate for Chair of the BEM IPB University, Deputy Secretary General of the Executive Board of the Islamic Student Association (HMI), and Head of the West Sumatra Regional Organization. In addition, he was also actively served as Director of Indonesia Food Watch (IFW) which focuses on criticizing and providing input related to food policy in Indonesia.
After graduating from IPB University, he worked at a private company, namely PT Astra International as Sales and Marketing. Menix worked there for less than a year. Not intending to pursue a career in the office world as an employee, he has always had the intention to study the application of management and marketing.
Menix is a person who is not looking for opportunities to become employees, especially Civil Servants. He was determined to become a successful young entrepreneur. And in 2016, he succeeded in pioneering iCowindonesia.
This business empowers local farmers. He managed to expand his business, namely distributing cattle, buffalo, goats, and sheep for qurban and aqiqah services.
Tentunya untuk mencapai titik seperti sekarang ia telah melewati beberapa badai, di awal merintis usahanya ia pernah rugi puluhan juta dan ditipu peternak. Namun dengan kejadian seperti itu tidak mengurangi semangat dan ambisinya untuk menjadi pemain besar bisnis ruminansia di Indonesia dan Asia Tenggara.
iCowindonesia is also a service provider business that can provide solutions for obtaining land and cage rentals for the 'iCow hotel' for urban people who want to raise livestock and meet the needs of farmers outside the capital city.
Menix's business is also a provider of animal feed, processed beef rendang, qurban savings, sales of pure pasteurized milk, edutourism, as well as agricultural and livestock business training.
With the business that has been initiated since 2016, he has succeeded in building his business by inviting audience to collaborate and participate in building joint business partners to empower local farmers throughout Indonesia in order to participate in preparing superior livestock to meet animal protein needs.
In 2020, through the Qurban Nusantara program, iCow participated in distributing 1,000 sacrificial animals consisting of goats, sheep, cows and buffalo. iCow partnered by empowering local breeders throughout Indonesia and owns display cages in Bogor, Depok, Banten, Jakarta, West Sumatra, Riau, Malang and Nusa Tenggara areas.
Based on his love for the world of business and business, by 2025, he has a target for iCow to have partner display cages throughout Indonesia. In line with the expectations of the government under the Ministry of Agriculture to increase exports, iCow also targets that by 2022, it can send five thousand goats, sheep and buffaloes to meet the needs of neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and the Middle East with huge Muslim market potential.(*)
