The Long Journey of a Senior Indonesian Economist

At the age of just 5 years old, Aviliani's parents separated. When she moved from Malang to Jakarta, she was entrusted to her aunt. Because she didn't want to bother his brother, Aviliani took the initiative to become a lecturer assistant since he was studying the first year at Atmajaya University, Jakarta.

After graduating from S1 in 1985, Aviliani started her career as a lecturer at STIE Perbanas, then she was given a scholarship and continued her education at FISIP UI, majoring in Commerce Administration.

After graduating with a master's degree in 1995, she was invited by her lecturer to enter Indef, an institution for economic studies. From there, her career as an economic researcher soared. Since then, her prestige has increased and she is often invited to be a speaker in the field of economics, both at state institutions and companies.

Like a film storyline that ends sweetly, now the struggle has paid off and is complete. Now Aviliani is known as a senior professional economist in Indonesia. The woman from Malang now serves as Secretary of the National Economic Committee (KEN).

He has been exploring Indonesian economy. The woman who was born on December 14, 1961 was noted as a lecturer and researcher at STIE Perbanas in 1989-2002. After that she continued her career as Head of the Management Department at Paramadina University in June 2002.

She is also known for her appearance as a host of events in various media. These include the Todays Dialogue (Metro TV), Economic Recovery (Metro TV), Moderator Talk Show (ANTV) programs and the Morning and Talks program on Radio Smart FM.

The popularity of Aviliani's name as a senior economic observer had become one of the targets of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to be appointed as one of the ministers in his cabinet.

In 2005, she was also appointed by the government as an Independent Commissioner at Bank BRI. While she was holding a strategic position at Bank BRI, she did not end his educational career. In the midst of her busy life as an Independent Commissioner of BRI, she completed her studies and received his doctorate in 2012 from IPB University.

Aviliani was declared graduated at IPB University after taking an open doctoral promotion examination with a dissertation entitled "Analysis of Customer Segmentation of Bank Savings Based on Customer Value (study at one state-owned bank)".

In her dissertation, she revealed the need for customer segmentation to reduce national banking operational costs and implement promotional strategies that are not generic.

Furthermore, Avi, as she is familiarly called, said that customer profiles are very necessary so that banks are able to know the characteristics and needs of current and future customers. One of the marketing with customer approach is Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

The struggle will not betray the results, that is a summary of a bit of Aviliani's life journey. Aviliani teaches us all that even someone who doesn't have the privilege has the right to achieve their dreams. Aviliani's high learning motivation and tireless efforts should be used as motivation for the younger generation to achieve success.
