Returned from Abroad, Now Building Homeland
On August 24, 1965, Desniarti Ishak was born in Pematang Panjang Sijunjung, West Sumatra. But Desniarti grew up and spent much of her teenage years in Payakumbuh completing school education. After that, she decided to go out of city and leave his family and homeland across the island of Java, in order to continue her higher education.
Desniarti was listed as an undergraduate student majoring in Fishery Product Processing at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), IPB University. Apparently, the wages of hard work and dreams in overseas lands did not betray Desniarti. Around 1990, she was officially accepted as a Civil Servant (PNS) at the Fisheries Service of West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra).
However, her name would not be Desniarti Isaac, if she was easy to be complacent and take steps. The upbringing of a father named Ishak Aman and her mother Rosni, has shaped Desniarti as a person who continues to learn and pursue the highest education.
Around year 2000, Desniarti returned to school in the Master of Agribusiness Management (MMA) program of IPB University. She continued to progress, continued to study the Doctoral Program (S3) in the Study Program of Coastal and Ocean Resources Management at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) IPB University in 2002.

She was inaugurated directly by the Governor of West Sumatra around August 2021 at the Inauguration of the Primary High Officials of the Province of Sumar. The career journey of this mother of three children to become a head of service is not without a long process. Previously, Desniarti served as a Secretary of the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of West Sumatra. Then she became the Acting (Plt.) Head of the Service, temporarily replacing Yosmeri, who had entered retirement age in January 2022.
Finally, Desniarti is reportedly also trusted to be the Chairperson of the Regional Leadership Council of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University, West Sumatra (DPD HA FPIK IPB) West Sumatra, for the period 2021-2024. She was elected after the Regional Conference II which took place on Saturday (27/3) at the West Sumatra DKP Office Hall, Jalan Koto Tinggi Padang.
Desniarti said, her leadership in the DPD HA FPIK IPB organization will continue to encourage regeneration, so that the alumni of FPIK in West Sumatra can be able to take part, work in real terms in the process of marine and fisheries development in the province of West Sumatra.
As expected, HA FPIK IPB West Sumatra can be beneficial for fellow alumni, alma maters, and the community through increasing synergy, cooperation and concern among fellow alumni.
Then increase the participation of alumni in marine and fisheries community service who are able to bring blessings to continue their service to their beloved alma mater, FPIK IPB University.
